Why Fire Door Remedial Works Matter

A fire door inspection is only the first step in protecting a building. Once any issues have been identified, it's essential that remedial works are carried out promptly to restore the integrity and performance of the fire doors.

Over time, fire doors can become damaged through everyday use, alterations, or general wear and tear. Even seemingly minor issues, such as damaged seals, incorrect gaps, faulty ironmongery or damaged door leaves, can significantly affect how a fire door performs in the event of a fire.

Where repairs are no longer suitable, replacing the door with a fully certified fire door set ensures the building continues to meet the required standards while providing the highest level of protection.

Protecting People, Property and Compliance

Fire doors play a critical role in compartmentation, helping to slow the spread of fire and smoke throughout a building. When correctly installed and maintained, they provide valuable time for occupants to evacuate safely while allowing emergency services to respond.

For commercial premises, warehouses, industrial facilities and multi-occupancy buildings, maintaining compliant fire doors is an important part of meeting fire safety responsibilities.

Delaying remedial works after an inspection can leave a building exposed to unnecessary risk and may result in ongoing compliance issues.
